“ Sunderbans ” means “ beautiful forest ” in Bengali. It is the largest mangrove in the world, irrigated by the arms of the Ganges in India, just before the sacred river plunges into the waters of the Gulf of Bengal. Located a hundred kilometers south of Calcutta in western Bengal, Sunderbans is a strange land of murky waters and forests teaming with wildlife.
In order to gather the wild honey of the giant bees coming from the Himalaya, the men must first pay homage to the gods of the forest, and more importantly, avoid running into the master of the woods, the dreaded man eating tiger… !
