Virus is essentially an action game at the Tomb Raider, from the shooting game to the third person: the player guides his character, filmed in the third person (by default the camera is placed behind Joan, but it is possible to change the angle of view), through eleven levels in which it faces about forty types of hostile creatures using nine different weapons; the game contains five end-of-level bosses.
